The Wirtschaftsclub Rhein-Main
The Wirtschaftsclub Rhein-Main e.V. was founded on 1.4.1950 by young entrepreneurs and business executives at the I.G. Farben Building in Frankfurt am Main.
Unlike existing associations in Germany dating from before the war, it was not exclusively an association of entrepreneurs: salaried managers and executives were also included. This prevented the representation of particular interests and gave rise to a “third place” with absolute neutrality in party-political, social, religious and economic matters, firmly rooted in the foundations of Germany's young socially liberal market economy.
