A GmbH in crisis — recognise the signs early, act decisively and preserve options

Eric Kratzer, entrepreneur and crisis manager

Date:
22.10.2026
12:00–14:00

Venue:
Villa Bonn, Siesmayerstraße 12, 60323 Frankfurt am Main

Topic:
What managing directors and shareholders need to know before a corporate crisis becomes a personal liability crisis.

Corporate crises rarely arise overnight. Liquidity shortages, declining earnings, growing financing pressure or deferred payments are often early warning signs. It is crucial to recognise and assess these developments in time, because as a crisis deepens, management’s room for manoeuvre changes not only economically but also legally.

Eric Kratzer, entrepreneur and crisis manager, draws on practical experience to show how the stages of a crisis can be recognised early, when managing directors need to be particularly alert, and what options for action and restructuring remain available.

Particular attention will be paid to early warning signs, liquidity trends, the onset of grounds for insolvency proceedings and the growing liability risks for managing directors who act too late.

This will be followed by an explanation from Constance Rothamel, lawyer and insolvency administrator at FEIGL & ROTHAMEL Lawyers & Tax Advisers, on the options offered by insolvency law for restructuring and continuing a business – from debtor-in-possession proceedings and restructuring through a transfer of the business to conventional insolvency proceedings.

The joint presentation thus combines two perspectives: early crisis detection and entrepreneurial decision-making on the one hand, and the possibilities for restructuring within insolvency proceedings on the other.

The central question of the Net-Lunch:

When must an entrepreneur act – and what options remain at that point?
